Up for sale is a classic Swiss workhorse: the Certina Waterking 215. This model is a favorite among horologists for its robust engineering and the legendary in-house Caliber 25-651 movement—widely considered one of the finest mass-produced automatics of its era.
BENCH RESULTS (TIMEGRAPHER TESTED)
While many vintage watches are listed as "running," this one has been put on the bench to prove its health. It is performing exceptionally well:
* Rate: Dial-up performance is currently clocked at 0 to +3 seconds per day
* Amplitude: A strong 237° - 239°, showing excellent power transfer through the gear train.
* Beat Error: 0.7ms - 0.8ms, indicating a very well-centered balance.
* Frequency: Running at the correct $19,800 bph.
THE SPECS
* Movement: 27-Jewel Certina In-House Cal. 25-651 Automatic (Swiss Made).
* Case: Gold-plated bezel with a Stainless Steel screw-down back.
* Reference: 5806 210-5 | Serial: 7775773 (Late 1960s).
* Dial: Original champagne sunburst dial with applied gold/black indices.
* Date: Date window at 3 o’clock (working correctly).
* Band: New 18mm brown lizard-grain leather strap.
CONDITION REPORT
* Case: The gold plating shows heavy, honest brassing on the lugs and case edges. It has a great "tool watch" patina that reflects its history.
* Dial/Hands: The sunburst dial is in excellent shape with very minimal aging. Hands show light, consistent patina.

* Caseback: Signed stainless steel back with some tool marks from past services.
